Summary:
With continued residential development in Davidson County, particularly in the Cow
Palace area, the Natural Gas Department intends to extend a natural gas main along Front
Street (SR 1217). The proposed extension will connect to existing natural gas
infrastructure and provide a two-way feed, strengthening the overall reliability and capacity
of the natural gas system. Attached maps will supply more detail.
A North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Right-of-Way Encroachment
Agreement is required before construction can begin on the Front Street main extension.
The project will consist of installing approximately 1,550 feet of 4-inch polyethylene pipe
and appurtenances, extending from our existing main locations along Front Street (SR
1217).
