Summary:
The City of Lexington received $12,670 in advance grant funds under the Performance and Wellness grant program during fiscal year 2024-2025 to support Police Department training and assessment activities. The FMRT Group, a psychological and medical support team, provides assessments and training for Police Department staff. Grant funds are administered by the North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police (NCACP). Previously, Ordinance 2024-040 was adopted to Amendment to the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2025 related to the North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police Performance and Wellness Grant.
The remaining balance of $5,900 is available for eligible training and assessment activities. This ordinance requests reappropriation of these carryover grant funds into the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget so the Police Department may continue to use them in accordance with grant requirements.
