Summary:
City Council established the AMI Software Integration Project on February 9, 2026 to purchase Meter Data Management (MDM) software to integrate Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) for the Water Resources, Electric, and Natural Gas utility funds. The original estimated cost was $1,300,751. Renewed proposals have been submitted and additional funding in the amount of $53,990 will be required to secure Cayenta AMI Assistance to complete the AMI Software Integration Project. The total project is projected to cost $1,354,741.
The Finance Department requests to amend the annual budget for the Internal Service Fund, Utility Administration for fiscal year ending June 30, 2027, to reflect a transfer to the Utility Administration Capital Project Fund for the AMI Software Integration Project.

AMENDMENT TO THE FINANCIAL PLAN FOR CITY OF LEXINGTON INTERNAL SERVICE FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2027 FOR UTILITY ADMINISTRATION REFLECTING A TRANSFER FOR THE AMI SOFTWARE INTEGRATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lexington, North Carolina that the following amendment be made to the summarized financial plan for its internal service funds for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027:
Section 1. To amend the estimated Revenues and Expenditures for the Internal Service Fund: Utility Administration Fund, the estimated revenues and expenditures are to be changed as follows:
Section 2. Copies of this financial plan amendment shall be furnished to the City Clerk and to the City Manager and Finance Officer to be kept on file for their direction in the disbursement of funds.
